Ceres Station was under attack...

So, just around the time I completed the NES control, and got my emulated ass playing some pretty serious original Metroid (one of the best games ever forever), I found out from the boneless puppy about Metroid: Zero Mission for the GBA.

So, I've been playing that via VisualBoyAdvance in the moments that I haven't been utterly freaking out about all the things I need to be getting done.

It's a pretty sweet ass game, though I eventually had to switch back to my normal gamepad because the NES control doesn't have shoulder buttons. Zero Mission supposedly retells the original game, and while there are some definite similarities (most notably some pretty well remixed music) there are a lot of differences as well.

Now I just need to frankenstein my ass a SNES controller to work with XP, and I will be playing this game all over again, and it will almost certainly spur me to play Super Metroid from start to finish. Super Metroid is frigging badass, and anyone who says otherwise is a bigot and a coward.

Okay, so any meaningful content of this entry was completely overshadowed by rabid fanboy geeking out. Get your own blog.

[thanks for that line finn]
